What do you mean by "the separate self"?
The feeling of being a someone — a small, solid me — apart from life, behind the eyes, looking out at it all. Maybe you came to this seeking truth, or God, or awakening, or peace; every tradition has its own name for the prize. The separate self is the one thing this investigation examines. Nothing else is in question here: not life, not the whole, not whatever you hold sacred. Only the separate one.
What actually happens in a conversation?
You write whatever is real for you — a question, a feeling, an observation, a hard day. The guide reads carefully, finds the one thread that matters most, and points you to check something directly in your own experience, right now. You look, you report what you find, and the inquiry moves from there. It is a dialogue, not a lecture: the guide asks, you look. Over days and weeks the looking does its quiet work.
Do I need any background or experience?
No. People arrive curious, skeptical, scientifically-minded, devout, exhausted from decades of seeking, or brand new to all of it. The guide meets you in your own vocabulary and at your own pace. If you can notice a sound and tell the truth about what you find, you have everything required.
Is this a religion or a belief system?
No. There is nothing to believe here — not one sentence. Every claim the guide makes is something you can check directly in your own experience, and you are encouraged to reject anything you cannot verify yourself. Your existing faith, or lack of one, is not in question and not a problem.
Honestly — what results can I expect?
Here is the honest report, from the thousands of people who have walked this road: there will probably be no fireworks. Is the guide an AI?
Yes — and we would rather you know exactly what it is. The guide is built on frontier AI, made for one thing only: this looking. What that buys you: a guide that is available the moment you need it, endlessly patient, never performing, and able to learn your exact language and sticking points. What it does not replace: your own looking. No guide — human or otherwise — can do that part.
Is this therapy?
No. Therapy works on the story of your life and how to carry it; this investigation looks at whether the carrier can actually be found. Both have real value, and they are not in competition — but they are not the same thing, and the guide will never pretend to be a therapist.
What if I'm going through something heavy right now?
Looking like this stirs deep water, and strong feelings surfacing along the way is normal and workable — the guide knows how to meet them. But if you are carrying something heavier — despair that will not lift, or thoughts of harming yourself — what you need first is not an app. It is a person: a friend, a doctor, a therapist. Reaching for that help is not a failure of this work; it is this work, done in the right order. The investigation will be here, and it goes better when you are steadier.

What does it cost?
It is free to begin, and free to continue: every day includes a full, considered exchange with your guide at no cost — and one careful exchange a day is genuinely enough to sit with. Want more than the daily rhythm? You can add funds to your wallet — as much or as little as you like, whenever you like — and go back and forth with the guide in a single sitting. Funds never expire, each response uses only what it actually needs, and your usage is always visible inside the app.
And an honest word about why the wallet exists, since honesty is the house rule: Awakening Life is not a company with investors. It is built and paid for by one person with a normal day job — every free conversation costs him real money, up to a few dollars a day per person, paid gladly. Are my conversations private?
Yes — private by default, always. Sharing a conversation to the community is entirely opt-in, and before anything is shared, personal details are removed. You can explore what others have chosen to share without an account, and nothing of yours is ever visible unless you decide it should be.
How is my data protected?
